Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807 - 1882)  is one of America's most famous poets.  He is probably best known for his Song of Hiawatha and The Courtship of Miles Standish . . . . But out of all of them, this poem The Wreck of the Hesperus, is  my favorite.
